Last week, according to local papers, the City Council met to map out their 2007 'Do To" List. Anyone want to give some input.
I's like to see:
1) Expansion of services for teens and seniors.
2) Infrastructure. Possibly some solar powered lighting in some of the new construction/parks.
3) Road and Traffic improvement (slowly improving)
4) Improving communication to all citizens
5) More discussion between council and commissions and citizens
That's my two cents. Anyone else.

Priorities for 2007
I would just like to make a suggestion regarding the updating of the infrastructure in AC during the next several years. Do we have to dig up all of the roads in AC at the same time? I feel the public works dept needs to finish one project before starting another. Right now between the City and Caltrans projects the majority of residents (including myself) use more of the backroads in AC. These roads are areas that the kids are playing on and quite frankly I'm surprised we have not read of more incidents due to the traffic flow in residential areas.
On a positive note...I definitely like the results I see on the Hwy 29 facelift. Business store fronts are looking alot more appealing.
Hopefully, some innovative ideas will come forward to clean up the older areas of town this year!

I am hoping that American Canyon will be taken into a new direction. Napa Junction 1 looks like Safeway Plaza. I am not impressed with the design on Canyon Corners either, I think the Planning Commission could have done a better job.
We need someone on planning commission who can approve parking lots with a realistic design to them also. Canyon Plaza and Canyon Corners, Napa Junction 1 just are not easy to drive through. I know the planning commission wanted to see lots of vegitation, but when it comes to parking it is just not realistic to put vegitation between every parking area; creating unusual or sharp corners when driving a vehicle.
The City needs to start using the water bills to inform people of positions needing to be filled weather it be someone for the utilities department or someone on the planning commission. People just don't have time to read the local papers daily. Maybe a city newsletter?
