AC Maintenance Workers

I was filling my car up at Safeway today and a city truck pulls up on AC Road to lay cones. They park the truck and 3 workers carried 2 cones each and set them out. Then back to the truck for more until all cones were in line. There was no quickness to the process and all I could think about was the old jokes about how many CalTrans workers it takes to dig a hole. No wonder it is going to cost over $100,000 to repave the road at the Little League. I bet these workers can pick-up more than 2 cones when it's time to go home...

In contrast, whatever contractor was hired to lay the new wheelchair accessible curbs in Rancho did an excellent job.

Your comment about the setting out of a traffic safety cone pattern on American Canyon Road does not comment about if the workers used proper traffic safety( as per CalTrans guidelines). The work that was done within this safety zone was done in a timley manner. There were no injuries or accidents caused by this traffic safety closure. Your snap shot view of the situation is by it's nature incomplete and bias. Every year there are maintenance workers in this country that are injured or killed during work in traffic safety zones by careless drivers. So as CalTrans says "GIVE THEM A BRAKE".
