Response to Paulette's Post.
Apparently, I've been looking in all the wrong places for love! I had no idea I should have dropped into the city offices...

My Vote
Vic Riv,
Thank you for your questions to Mr. Maguire. I think now I will be able to make a very informed vote for Mr. Maguire based on his response to your questions. Your advocacy to get the right person elected has brought forward one very deserving candidate. Keep up the good work!

Safeway
As I said, it's petty, but there are not any carts inside so everyday I pick one up outside. The deli clerk the other day had to cover the bakery so I waited at the dinner hour for her to return to the counter. I do agree with you that the clerks and baggers couldn't be more polite. As far as price ...

Safeway Service
I know this sounds petty...but has anyone noticed that Safeway is not providing the same service they were when they came to town?

Battle of the Newspapers
Has anyone read the "Letters to the Editor "section of the Echo? Did you read the Post? It appears we have a "Battle of the Newspapers" here. What a waste of time from so many people that seem concerned about the direction for the future of AC.
Any comments?

My Opinion...
Rarely do I agree with VicRiv, however, this time I do. I have read Mr. Maguire's posts for over a year. I planned to vote for him this next election based on his knowledge of the issues. After reading the post's feedback from voters, I was disappointed. Now my vote is up for grabs!

What an opportunity...
Here we have a prime example of someone that neighbor's feel is not keeping the mud from his yard under control. What an opportunity for you VicRiv to test your theory: "Why not walk to their front door and kindly mention it to them? The direct approach usually is the most effective." Plea...

Residential Clean-up
I have a suggestion as to what I would like to see the city do regarding the many eyesore properties in AC. Has anyone ever thought of bringing in large garbage recepticles for a couple of days to encourage those who are too lazy to throw out things or unwilling or unable to go to the transfer stati...

I have no award certificates on my wall...Doesn't mean I haven't earned them ... I agree with Justq on a meaningless collection. After reading your posts...my major accomplishment is that I raised two "law abiding" citizens in American Canyon. It wasn't easy. As a single mom with an averag...

While driving around AC this morning, I noticed a new sign has gone up at Morris Curry's home..."For Sale"!!! One can only hope that he will relocate outside the city limits... Also, I found it very interesting that the selling agent is not his buddy Cori...

"Even Lorraine LaVoie has publicly given support to West, but that doesn't matter she will forget about it soon enough. Like with the "lease" she signed with Luporini. "No she didn't sign a lease, wait yes she did, no wait she didn't, oh yes this is my signature." Yesterday ...

Response to my2cents
My2cents: Your questions are interesting. However, they are somewhat negative when you mention it was obvious "WHO" was missing? I did not attend the recent event. And I have no idea who was there. And personally, could care less. Does a council member need to attend every event that the C...

James Walker
I would suggest that if James Walker is not elected to the Council...that the Council consider him as a candidate to serve on the Parks and Recreation Commission. That way he could address the needs of the youth in A. C. and gain experience for a possible future Council seat.

Thank You...
I would like to thank the candidates that responded to my questions. Vic Riv...I am sure that all of the candidates will have to respond to your questions regarding roads, infrastructure, crime etc...in the local papers or community forums. However, your last question is (in my view) inappropriate.....

Candidates?
Has anyone else decided to file for the current "City Council Seat" that is available in the June election? According to the Vallejo Times Herald only one gentleman, from the mobile home parks, has applied. Any updates?

Your post is one of the most common sense approaches I have seen on this website...Possibly, districting could eliminate "old vs new" without the drama? How do you see the breakdown of districts?

Times Herald on Candidates
I had my morning laugh when I read a quote in the Times Herald this morning from Pastor Curry when asked if he would run for office in June.
Quote: "The way to get elected is to create some kind of controversy and that way you get notoriety. I refuse to do that." LOL!!!

Special Meeting Tonight...
Unless I had read the American Canyon Eagle today I would not have known there was a special session of the City Council Meeting tonight at 7:00 P.M. The Council voted to be included in the election, already scheduled for June, to fill the current vacancy on the City Council. I think this is a very ...

Finance Manager Needed In Am Can?
While searching for a new job and checking out the Napa Register today..
Am Can is looking for a "Finance Manager". Is that not the position Mr. Joseph held before agreeing to accept the "City Manager" position?
This town seems to be up-side down lately!

Food For Thought!

Time To Go?
I find it very sad that Lori has put herself in another questionable situation.
She has given so much time into the creation of American Canyon.
