Re: Maguire Prevails On Sign Lawsuit
We are all desperately in need of good leadership at City Hall. Perhaps the "wake up" call has started. Please keep us informed of anything else going on. I was told by Tom Orlando (Our First Mayor) that there is an election every two years and the founders knew that the people need good r...

The Truth and the Facts
Well.. very predictable and sad. The Facts: The General Plan calls for American Canyon to be a "small rural community"... asta la vista to that. The Truth: This should have gone to a vote of the people. I think we still live in a democracy... something as "important" as this (if ...

Some Vindication
Well, this is some vindication that Cindy and Paul were RIGHT ON on the WalMart problem. Actually it wasn't about WalMart... the City Council (Colcleaser and his voting block) did an extremely pitiable slam-dunk on California's Laws and brought us to this dysfunctional (and embarassing) moment in Ur...

Amcanative I'm afraid your history is off. The High School was on the radar as far back as 1994 when the first council was seated. AMCAN was stuck in the doldrums of a slack economy. Thats when redevelopment came about. Nothing happened during his tenure. Now his gang has to do the cleanup and they ...

Bad Planning and Bad Negotiations
Garcia goofed up once more.... the word EARMARKED is the problem. The word should be "ASSIGNED" to the creation of Am Can High School. Once the revenue starts flowing (for those of you in the 800K homes, you will get quite a shock at tax time), I suspect the lead agency (NVUSD) will begin ...

Colcleaser's Guys
Paul, It looks like they've been violating the Brown Act since they took over after the Redevelopment Wars. It is an obvious ploy.... use up all available land AND THEN update the General Plan.. that is... when there's nothing left to update. Seems the Update should be the FIRST order of business......

I usually don't agree with Paulette but that is as accurate a recount of that episode as we will get. Thanks Paulette. When we needed Joan, she wasn't there. Hey Paulette, For whatever reason, the Colcleaser/Luporini era you helped elect has placed American Canyon in a VERY PRECARIOUS situation... CALTRANS is ready to put 6 lanes down the center of town. Water availability is in question. Traffic congestion is the worst it has ever been. Revenue from Gre...

Oh Yes This is the truth.... ah ha
Paulette has things backwards as usual. The First Council and General Plan spoke to vision and hope. The GP uses terms like "village" and "community" in all manners of development efforts. Open space was NEVER to be "separated" from any development. The word was to go s...

These are very good comments... I just don't agree with them but it shows out-of-the-box thinking. Districting only creates more gridlock because one or two or three districts end up forming a "gang" that disenfranchises everyone else and you are back to where you started. Checkout what's ...

When you see the scale of the park, "amphitheater" and "other" amenities, you will be VERY disappointed. They are tiny by comparison. It will also block the view or what SHOULD BE the town center and the Basalt Plant. This project was simply a way for a developer to buy his way i...
