The Parks and Community Services Commission had a full agenda past Thursday.
-recommended $404,000 worth of repairs to rehabiliate Community Park 1.
-Directed city staff to investigate funding from US Tennis Association for grant money to repair the Tennis Courts in town.
-rejected the proposed 'fix' for Kimberly Park. We suggested the design firm a) investigate artificial turf as a surface b) compare maintenance costs of artificaial turf vs. seeded surface c) include the adjacent lot to incorporate restrooms, parking and additional playing fields.
- recommended the development of the lot on Spikerush behind Com1 Restroom for the building of a bocce ball facility.
Note: these are only recommendations. They will be presented to City Council early next year-THEY HAVE THE LAST WORD.
