STOP at STOP signs!

I have never witnessed so many offenders of running "STOP" signs than in Safeway's parking lot! I noticed that the AC police have recently slowed down the traffic on Rio del Mar in the morning commute (thank you) but Safeway's lot is an accident waiting to happen.

As you come out of Jack in the Box the hedge is too high to see on the right and the left is blocked by the building. People are in a rush to get to the store and do not even see the many signs to STOP in the lot...

Maybe about a 15 miles an hour sign here and there would help? What is the speed limit in this lot?

The configuration of several new areas in AC, in my opinion should be re-evaluated.

I agree! While ACPD was doing a GREAT job over at Donaldson Way School - you know the stop sign...It's back to people just going right through it. I haven't seen an officer back there in a long time. I think that they should periodically show up as to let the residents know they are still watching...
I understand what you are saying about that Jack In The Box sign - it is hard to see and people do wizzzz by.

Maybe more people would Stop if they knew how much it is going to cost them. A co-worker recently did not come to a complete stop at a sign on Elliott (right in front of the Sheriff's office). Her fine is over $500.00 not to mention what it will cost to attend a driving class so her insurance will not increase...
Personally, I had very little sympathy for her and actually laughed when I heard which sign she cruised through!

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about in the parking lot. I hardly ever see anyone come to a COMPLETE stop at the stop sign on Poco Way -- unless there is an officer right there. Which BTW -- they have done a GREAT job with slowing traffic down on Melvin --- but boy people sure do fall back into bad habits when they haven't been present for a few days. And weekends well that is just a FREE RIDE -- please do not mistake this comment as complaining because I am VERY VERY grateful for the work our police have done, and with there only being 2 devoted to traffic issues -- they are busy!!!
