any of you- The city council, in their great wisdom, apparently has determined that it is a good policy for the city to publicly disclose the names of complaintants for city code violations, to the violator.

I have argued this is bad public policy, and a safety concern, as this may lead to retaliation of varying degrees, and create neighborhood conflict.
It may as well expose the city to liability.

As an officer, what is your opinion on the matter. SOund like a good idea to let neighbors know who is filing code violations against who?

Mr. Maguire,

As officers we are often called on to perform our duties as described and directed by the US Constitution, the State Constitution, Federal, State and Local laws, as well as follow directives by our Courts and Commanders or Supervisors. Our job is not to express an opinion for or against our legislator’s decisions. We are officers of the Executive Branch of the Government and perform our duties as directed.

This web site is not intended to have officers express their opinions for or against our Legislative Officers; Policy and Law prohibit against expressing political opinions for or against these issues. Thanks you for your appreciation in this matter.
