Helmuts

In my subdivision there are so many young children riding their bikes in the streets without any helmuts on. What can be done about this.

Most officers will warn or issue a citation for repeat violators when we see them. The California Vehicle Code requires children under the age of 18 to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle.
If you have a child who does not have a helmet, then the American Canyon Police Department can provided your child with one - free of charge to residents of American Canyon. For further details, contact our office during normal business hours.

I would also like to let the viewers know that these helmets are supplied to us at ACPD by the American Canyon Lions Club. The Lions club has been doing this for about 2+ years.
