Next to Safeway...

Does anyone know what is going to happen to the land next to safe way? I thought i heared somthing about more building like the American Canyon Plaza's...i hope not. We need some real stores in American Canyon. maybe put a bookstore in there or something...so does anyone know?!

That project is being developed by Rick Hess. He is the same developer that did Canyon Plaza, which he owns and manages.

I have seen the artist rendition, and it looks good. Last time I spoke to him he was about 60% leased, include a new health club.

He has several retail tenants, food, etc.

The project is just over 45K feet as I recall.

As you may know, business come and go around here, some make it some dont. Canyon Plaza has had its share of turnover. The Safeway center has a vacant Quiznos already, and over off highway 80 and Pittman the Togos and Baskin Robbins closed within a year.

So, its still a tough market for some.

Quiznos, next to Safeway closed because of bad management. There'll be another Quiznos in American Canyon soon.
