Weed Abatement

Post by Guest »

The Fire Dept recently sent out notices to landowners regarding the mowing of dried grass & weeds on their property. It appears many areas have been cut, but I never could understand why the perimeter of these areas are not cleaned up. These perimeters catch all the papers and garbage on a windy day. Maybe the notices in the future could specify that perimeters of the land are also required.

Do you mean clean-up of those perimeters?

Napadude,

I mean cut the weeds along the perimeter and pick up the garbage that has collected.

Yeah, this is a countywide problem.

My in-laws live on Monticello Road, and even though the trash is from passing tourists and lake-goers, they still clean up the litter.

In this day and age, with everyone so environmentally conscious, it's ironic that people still litter when they are anonymous.

well it seams that the fire department will just have to specify what they say on those notices you could go call them up and ask politley

It's a sad comment on our society, that some members have to contact authorities to get others to comply with the agreed upon laws. When people just don't do the right thing, because it's the right thing to do.

Let's show some common sense, and respect for the world. After all, a fire is much more likely to start next to the road, at the perimeter, than within the property.

Or at least it would seem.

Compliance

As reported last night at the council meeting, it was surprising how many property owners had not complied with the Fire Chief's letter directing weeds and garbage to be removed from their property.

Can we get some paved sidewalks around here? I know something's finally happening over by Parry's Pizza, but what about everywhere else on AmCan Road?

Is a modernization going to take place from AmCan Road to Highway 12?

Or even bury the power wires so it can look like an actual city not and "in between".
