I see several questions about the cameras that have appeared on corners around town (see attached photo). The Napa County Transportation Planning Agency is conducting countywide pedestrian counts. These cameras are simply counting pedestrians so we can find out how many people walk rather than drive to destinations. Our data will be combined with other cities countywide and will be used to help obtain and prioritize funding for non-motorized transportation projects. The devices will be taken down soon, after collecting data for several days.
