Guest: You are right, its unfortunate there are those who use these forums to spread rumors and just bash others, when it could be used for so much more. Its up to the citizens to use this forum the right way, and I hope they will, some just dont understand how valuable it is to be able to discuss t...

I think the idea of the council picking a mayor is just fine, and probably is better from the bigger standpoint. It balances out and keeps government in check. One should read the Federalist Papers to read why this is important, it prevents the tryanny of the majority. Thats how our judges are chose...

American Canyon Day
I remember posting a while ago about just having a day in AmCan to just bring out the chairs, make a BBQ, and just chit chat like the old days. I will be in town December 25th through January 3rd. Does anybody out there just want to get together at the park or something and just hang out for a few h...

You know, at first glance I thought it was the wrong thing to do but after reading about it all, it was the right thing. Reading about Abbeville and the replies the city has received I am glad the council approved. They really needed that money, as well as the other donations others in the community...

Guest: We do have a couple of citizens who form the American Canyon Red Cross. I was in it about ten years ago and in case of emergencies the plan (back in the day) was to relocate to Napa to shelters such as a church. We actually had a drill one year and Napa and AmCan volunteers did a mock up. We ...

The best way to support Sindy and her Troop Support is to send her donations for shipping. Even a dollar goes a long way, if you want to help, send her a buck. Send her 5, send her 10, whatever you can afford. She does a good service for our troops and its a good way if you want to help her give a s...

Towing Questions
Dear ACPD. I have a few towing questions. I've recently read about a few new laws for the state of CA too. I am aware that if you parked in violation on private property, the owner or representative from that property must be present while your car is being towed, is this correct? Also, I wanted to ...

I would like to see a possible movie theatre in our town and more recreation instead of sales offices. Less parks, I think we have enough. Well heres a poll. Out of the 13,000 or so residents, half are over 18 years of age. So out of 6,500 residents, the anti walmart folks could only get roughly 3,000 signatures? I think if this was the election Walmart would clearly win by 500 votes. How many signatures did the pro walmart crowd get?...

The person who asked for the resolution wasnt even worth discussing about. To ask the council to waste their time with something so stupid as for the city to declare the iraq war illegal is absolutely crazy. I agree something should be done but penalizing every dog owner and taking away the rights of residents by posting huge bonds and whatnot is not the answer. Its not the dogs, its the owners. Perhaps limits on how many dogs an owner can have, stricter laws for barking, and much higher penalties for o...
