First annual "Earthquake Preparedness Day"

by Issa » Wed Apr 22, 2015 8:48 pm

Glen Weeks, City of American Canyon CITY

Please come out and join us for our first annual "Earthquake Preparedness Day"

Date: This Sunday, April 26, 2015
Time: 11 am until 2 pm

Location: Public Safety Facility, 911 Donaldson Way East, American Canyon, Ca.
We will be opening the Public Safety Facility to the community with the goal of providing citizens with as much information as possible on how to prepare our homes, businesses and neighborhoods for a seismic event that could lead to significant damage to our infrastructure and at least temporarily disrupt our normal routines and basic needs. Our message is; plan, prepare, learn / be informed, be self sustainable for at least 3 days, and if an earthquake happens, help your neighbors if you can! After a major seismic event you may not have power, you may not have water, stores may not be open and police and/or fire may not be able to come right away - and this could go on for several days.

If you can, please try to come for the entire event from 11 o'clock on as we will be having scheduled seminars from representatives of FEMA, Napa County Cert, Napa County Emergency Volunteer Center, Red Cross, PG&E, and the Fire and Police Departments.

Call us if you have any questions; 707-551-0650

Thanks and stay safe,

Glen E. Weeks, Fire Chief
